Mr. Young has played the violin since he was 8 years old, and spend 12 years under Russian violinist Louis Debovsky. The Southern California received a scholarship allowing him to study under Ruth Haroldson, a Juilliard educated violinist. Mr. Young also spent two years at CSU Long Beach with violinist Herny Temianka, and attended various Southern California Music Camps including Idelwild and USC Summer Music Camps.
As early as eighth grade, Mr. Young played in various Southern California orchestras including the Pasadena, Whittier, Montebello, La Mirada, and Compton Symphonies. He also performed in various solo concerts and competitions over his lengthy professional career
Since 2008, the Northern California based students of Dennis Young have been concertmasters and soloists of both the Chico and Redding Youth Symphonies. He is thrilled to offer both beginning and advanced level instruction, as well as fiddle instruction to players, many of whom compete in the October Western Open Fiddle Contest.
